I am applying for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Blanchard River Skilled Nursing. I carry a twenty-four resident assignment on a long-term care unit and hold the wound care lead role for my facility, which is the part of my current job I would most want to keep doing.
As wound care lead I track every stage two and above and present them at the weekly meeting, which turned a set of individual dressing changes into something the whole unit could see. I also train new nursing assistants on skin checks, because they are the ones who find a problem first.
