I am applying for the Occupational Therapist position at Olentangy Rehabilitation Hospital. I carry eight to ten inpatients on a neurological rehabilitation unit, mostly stroke and traumatic brain injury, and I run our weekly seating and positioning clinic.
The seating clinic runs with the wheelchair vendor in the room, which cut the wait for a fitted chair from weeks to days for our patients. Before this role I worked in skilled nursing, and the family training I learned there is what keeps a discharge from failing in the first month.
Your posting describes a unit taking more complex seating referrals than it has therapists trained for. That is the part of the job I would want, provided the clinic time is protected rather than fitted around a full caseload.
I hold an Ohio Occupational Therapist license, Registered Occupational Therapist status, and Seating and Mobility Specialist certification.
