Dear Dr. Nakashima,
I am applying for the Physician Assistant position at Boulder Creek Orthopedic Surgery. I first assist on roughly two hundred cases a year and run our Friday fracture clinic independently, which is close to the split your posting describes.
The fracture clinic includes reductions and casting with the attending available but not present, which took about a year to earn. My hospital medicine year is why I am comfortable with the surgical patient who arrives with three other conditions already in play.
Your posting mentions expanding to a second operating day rather than adding clinic. That changes what the practice needs from an assistant, since the clinic still has to run on the day the surgeon is not in it.
I hold a Colorado Physician Assistant license, current Physician Assistant Certified status, and Advanced Trauma Life Support certification.
I would like to hear how call is shared and what the second operating day would mean for clinic coverage. I am glad to meet at your convenience.
Sincerely, Marcus Feldman
