Lifting Up Westchester (LUW) envisions a community where everyone has a stable place to call home. We believe that housing is the foundation on which a person’s well-being and advancement are built. With secure housing, we have the ability to focus on improving our health, education, employment, and so much more. Our mission is to provide life-changing support to people who have lost their housing or are struggling to meet other basic needs. We provide comprehensive support to people facing homelessness, hunger, and extreme poverty including: • Emergency Shelter: beds, meals, and other necessities for single men and women with tailored on-site support • Community Central: hot meals, programs and activities, and guidance accessing other community resources • Job Central: assistance in preparing for, finding, and maintaining employment • Housing: access to safe, affordable housing with ongoing support to ensure sustainability • Youth Programs: academic tutoring, enrichment, and mentoring for students from kindergarten through college We believe lifting individuals leads to stronger communities, a stronger economy, and a stronger society.
