The assistant will provide immediate support by triaging incoming patients, guiding them toward care, and assisting with treatments, nursing duties, and diagnostics like bloodwork and imaging. They will work alongside technicians and veterinarians, supporting anesthesia cases, managing fluid therapy, and participating in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and ideally have at least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant, with emergency or specialty experience being a plus. Essential requirements include basic computer skills, excellent communication abilities, fine motor skills, and the physical capacity to stand for long periods and lift significant weight, along with flexibility for night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
