About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, implementing treatment plans and monitoring patient responses. Responsibilities also include documenting services, educating patients and families, and assisting with discharge planning and adaptive equipment selection.

How you’ll contribute

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.

Seeks consultation as necessary.

Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.

Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.

Documents services provided and patient response/progress.

Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
  • Physical Therapy Assistant in the State
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Requirements

Candidates must have an Associate's degree and be a graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program, along with holding a Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required for this position.
