At Island Hammock Pet Hospital, we know it takes a village to care for pets and Veterinary Assistants are the glue that holds it all together.

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Full-Time Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our crew and bring skill, kindness, and hustle to every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag.

Why you'll love us: We’re real people who really care - We show up for each other, celebrate the wins (big and small), and support one another through the tough moments.

You’ll be joining a team that believes kindness, communication, and a little humor can make even the busiest days better.

It’s a special kind of relationship, and it’s one of the reasons our team loves coming to work.

You'll be a great fit if: Love animals (of course) and bring a calm, steady presence.

Communicate clearly and kindly with clients and teammates.

Stay organized and roll with the flow when things get busy.

Keep a cool head in a fast-paced environment.

Are eager to learn, grow, and try new things.

Jump in to help wherever you’re needed because teamwork just feels right.

What you'll do: Keeping accurate medical records and helping answer client questions Prepping patients for exams and surgeries Administering medications as directed Assisting with lab testing (blood, fecal, urine, etc.) Cleaning and sanitizing surgical tools, kennels, and exam areas Monitoring post-op patients and reporting any changes Safely restraining patients during exams and procedures Helping educate pet parents on meds, treatments, and care Partnering with Credentialed Technicians and DVMs to provide top-tier care What's in it for you?

Competitive pay, based on experience Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (some plans include free outpatient mental health care) Generous CE allowance + paid CE time Uniform allowance Pet care discounts for your personal pets PTO, floating holidays, parental leave, and military leave A robust Employee Assistance Program (from finances to wellness and everything in between) Access to Encore Vet Group’s library of training, CE, and career development resources A 401(k) with up to 5% company match.
