This position implements the occupational therapist's plan of care, ensuring timely and effective communication with therapists, physicians, and caregivers across the patient's continuum of care. Responsibilities also include adhering to compliance standards for billing, supervising staff and students, and completing all required clinical and business documentation.
require a current WV Occupational Therapist Assistant License, an Associate Degree from an ACOTE accredited school, and current CPR certification upon hire or within 90 days. Candidates must also possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for home health visits.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure as required by the state where services will be performed: MD: Occupational Therapy Assistant through Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice OH: Occupational Therapy Assistant through Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training Board PA: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant through Pennsylvania Department of State WV: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant through West Virginia Board of Occupational Therapy 2. Valid driver’s license. 3. CPR certification within 30 days of hire date. 4. Reliable vehicle. PREFERRED
EXPERIENCE: 1. Experience in the home health setting. Outpatient experience for outpatient positions, acute care experience for acute care positions, and SNF experience for SNF positions. Experience is defined as six months or more of continuous, full-time employment in the hiring setting. CORE

Educates patients, families, and other health care providers as indicated for the safe, effective delivery of the OT plan of care. 9. Effectively participates in student education. 10. Completes assigned educational & training programs within stated deadlines. Maintains required contact hours for licensure. 11. Effectively participates in community & marketing events as directed. 12. Meets established productivity standards. 13. Completes all assignments and job duties in a timely, efficient manner. 14. Supervises support staff, OTA students, and volunteers in a professional, effective manner. 15. Demonstrates a strong commitment to a high level of positive customer service as evidenced by UHC’s complaint management system, associate recognition system, and customer satisfaction measures. 16. Demonstrates basic computer skills including typing & navigation of required work programs.
