The MercyOne Clinton Clinical Dietitian Position offers a wide range of clinical nutrition responsibilities primarily supporting patients in dialysis and inpatient care, with exciting opportunities to grow your expertise in oncology and cardiac nutrition. This position is 100% on-site and prefers minimum of 3 years clinical nutrition experience POSITION PURPOSE Develops and implements nutrition care plans based on nutritional assessment of patient and interdisciplinary health care team members. Patients served range in age from newborn to geriatric. Supports, facilitates, and participates in the elder-focused social model of care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Determines interventions to improve nutritional status. Provides diet instructions, assessments, recommendations and orders as requested by physician for specialized nutritional support. (TPN and enteral nutrition) Provides nutritional services to outpatients, renal dialysis patients and community service groups as assigned. Communicates with physicians and health care professionals on a wide variety of medical conditions. Communicates nutritional needs to patients/residents and families. Demonstrates proper use of equipment and supplies necessary to function as clinical dietitian. Provides patient evidence based nutritional care as appropriate. Recommends appropriate therapeutic diets for patient’s medical condition as appropriate. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

Must be licensed by the State of Iowa or licensure eligible. Must pass the CDR registration exam within 6 months of hire date. Prefer one-year professional experience. Baccalaureate degree majoring in food and nutrition, dietetics or related field. Successful completion of a ACEND accredited postgraduate or equivalent dietetic program that fulfills requirements for registration in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Must have knowledge of specialized nutrition support and a working knowledge of disease entities and the relationship to nutrition.
