The APP will perform professional medical work, including the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of Cardiology patients under physician supervision across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. Key duties involve monitoring patient conditions, developing treatment plans, ordering tests, managing medications, and performing device interrogations for ICDs and pacemakers.
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree and 1-3 years of directly related experience, along with required certifications including BLS from AHA or Red Cross, and either NP or PA licensure from DORA or State Medical Board. Essential knowledge includes medical principles, community resources, and medication administration, coupled with skills in patient assessment and emergency response.
Knowledge of medical principals and procedures. Knowledge of community resources for appropriate procedures. Skill in eliciting history from patients, performing physical exams and formulating assessments of and treatment plans for patients. Ordering appropriate diagnostic studies to aid in diagnosis. Knowledge of appropriate administration and prescription of medications. Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment. Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations. Ability to prepare accurate reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public. A strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring adherence to critical care pathways and protocols and ensures an environment of safe quality care.
