The role involves practicing medicine under physician supervision, which includes conducting patient examinations and prescribing medications for acute and long-term medical needs. Responsibilities also cover ordering diagnostic tests, treating illnesses, performing minor procedures like suturing, monitoring therapies, and providing patient and family counseling on preventive health care.
Candidates must possess an active New York State license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, along with specific educational and certification requirements for their respective roles. Experience requirements include at least one year as a Physician Assistant in ambulatory care or preferred experience for Nurse Practitioners, plus current CPR certification for both.
