Responsibilities

• Help us provide excellent oral health care to our patients by preserving their teeth, preventing oral disease spread, and educating them on oral health.
• Your responsibilities include: Cleaning calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
• Detecting swelling or tenderness that could indicate oral cancer.
• Examining gums for sores and signs of disease.
• Applying fluorides (and other agents) to stop dental decay.
• Charting conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
• Exposing and developing x-ray film.
• Making impressions for study casts.
• Removing sutures and dressings.
• Administering local anesthetic agents.
• Placing/removing rubber dams, matrices, and temporary restorations.
