The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care within a physician's office, performing clinical skills as defined by Florida Statutes and UFHP policy, under the supervision of a licensed physician. Additionally, the role may involve performing clerical, insurance, and medical record functions, with potential requirements to float to other UFHP practices for staffing needs.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with current certification or registration, or possess an EMT license in lieu of MA certification. One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory setting is preferred, and current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is mandatory.
