The Nocturnal Nurse Practitioner provides complex monitoring and multifaceted treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients in critical condition. They also participate in administrative, teaching, and research activities while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
Candidates must be graduates of a state-approved Nurse Practitioner program and possess at least two years of clinical experience, preferably in a hospitalist setting. Required certifications include a Texas nursing license, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP credentials.
Nocturnal Nurse Practitioners (NPs) have an important role within the OakBend Medical Group’s Hospitalist Program. Nocturnal Nurse Practitioners work with patients who may be suffering from severe illnesses or who may be in critical condition. The primary role of the Nocturnal NP is to care for patients with complex, acute conditions. Nocturnal NPs provide complex monitoring and develop multifaceted treatment plans for adults and gerontology patients. They focus on preventing future complications while improving the health of the patient. The Nocturnal NP role also extends beyond clinical practice to include administrative, teaching, and research components.
