The Hospitalist will be responsible for admitting and rounding on medical/surgical patients aged 18 and older. They will evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make clinical decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Applicants must also be able to obtain an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa.
Admitting and rounding on medical/surgical patients 18-years and older Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care Seven to eight, 12-hour shifts per month; 7a – 7p Block scheduling in 7-on 7-off rotation Telehospitalist service overnight Average patients/day = 14-16 Open ICU with intensivist available to consult No night shifts, no call, no procedures and no codes Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills Outstanding work/life balance with flexible scheduling
