The Certified Nursing Assistant provides basic and specialized nursing care under the supervision of licensed nurses, adhering to policies and procedures to ensure proper patient care. They collaborate with the healthcare team and correctional officers to implement patient care activities, potentially floating between medical-surgical and psychiatric units.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed training for Nursing Assistants, along with current state certification. Experience requires knowledge of basic patient care methods, the ability to handle routine tasks, and the capacity to pass background checks and maintain Public Trust clearance if necessary.
