The role involves supporting clinical excellence by assisting dentists and orthodontists during patient assessments and treatments, and capturing precise diagnostics through performing X-rays and creating intra-oral impressions. Additionally, the assistant coordinates the patient experience through registration and scheduling, while optimizing the clinical environment by processing instruments and maintaining sterile exam rooms.
Candidates are preferred to have a Dental Assistant credential from Texas and 1+ years of Orthodontic experience, along with an active RDA license. A High School diploma or equivalent is required, though professional licensure can substitute for education or experience, and BLS Provider certification is preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role Support clinical excellence by assisting dentists and orthodontists during assessments and treatments to ensure every patient receives high-quality, personalized care. Capture precise diagnostics by performing X-rays and creating intra-oral impressions that serve as the foundation for accurate patient treatment plans. Coordinate the patient experience by managing registration and scheduling, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and organized visit from check-in to check-out. Optimize the clinical environment by meticulously processing dental instruments and maintaining stocked, sterile exam rooms to ensure a safe and efficient workspace for the team.
BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted. Dental Assistant credentialed from the Texas Dental Assistant preferred.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
What additional preferences we're seeking 1+ years of Orthodontic experience. Active RDA license. Ability to travel to other Ascension facilities.
