The technologist is responsible for conducting nocturnal polysomnograms, initiating nasal CPAP, performing Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, and accurately scoring all performed tests according to standards. Essential functions also include preparing patients, monitoring testing, troubleshooting equipment, and summarizing findings for physician review.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, with twelve to eighteen months of related experience preferred. Board certification from BRPT or ABSM is required, or the candidate must pass the examination within 18 months of hire if currently unregistered or a CRPSGT.
