Obtain referral if necessary.
Verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to office visits & procedures.
Collect all applicable co-payment, coinsurance, deductible or outstanding balance from the patient & post all payments collected.
Research & assist patients with questions regarding balances including collecting applicable payments.
Medical Assistant duties: Triage patient, take vitals, enter chief complaint, past & present history into EMR system.
Enter all current medications and prescription into EMR system.
Ensure patient charts are complete and required records are requested.
Call-in new prescriptions and refills and obtain authorization if necessary.
Care Coordinator duties: Schedule all procedures to be performed by the physician.
Obtains all authorizations for procedures and tests.
Check-out patients at the end of their visit and provide next step instructions.
