Float Registered Nurses will step into open shifts across multiple units, including the ED, ICU, Med/Surg, and Birth Center, providing versatile and high-impact support throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to deliver individualized care and collaborating with nursing personnel to ensure total patient care outcomes.
A minimum of three years of Med/Surg experience or equivalent hospital experience is required, with critical care experience being preferred. Candidates must possess an active Iowa RN license and be willing to obtain several certifications, including BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and NRP, though in-house education is available.
Varying shifts in the ED, ICU, Resource, Med/Surg, Birth Center (post-partum) Behavioral Health Services, & Same Day Service Pre-Op and PACU. Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the various departments in the hospital. Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period. Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care. Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience required or equivalent hospital experience Critical care experience preferred Must be willing to fill Resource Nurse role Active IA RN license Must have or willing to obtain upon hire: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, Hazmat, Mandatory Reporter, AMLS, and NRP (inhouse education available upon hire!)
