Medina Hospital’s 3 South nursing unit is a 32-bed unit that specializes in general medical surgical care for adult and geriatric patients with an emphasis on observation.
3 South delivers care to a variety of other conditions including pneumonia, diabetes, sepsis, GI bleed, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, various cancers, kidney stones, and bowel obstructions.
This unit also cares for, but is not limited to, patients undergoing hysterectomies, thyroidectomies, colon resections and appendectomies.

In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.
Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
Initiate and/or maintain interventions to ensure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
Document in patients’ medical records.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
