The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Receives training as well as regular direct supervision or guidance from more senior technologists, including orientation to the Departments infrastructure, policies, protocols, workflows, procedures and routines. Responsible for scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work, and discharging the patient from the MRI department with appropriate post MRI instructions.
Essential functions
Identifies patient service requirements. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Prepares patient for radiological/MRI procedures by positioning patient, adjusts immobilization devices, moves equipment into specified position, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors. Performs procedures by following and verifying referring provider’s orders.
Applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them, with other pertinent patient information, for timely interpretation.
Prepares and maintains accurate documentation. Maintains production and quality of MRI images by following established standards, orders, protocols and procedures.
Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by adhering to MRI safety policies specific to MRI Zones. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
Other duties as assigned.
