About the role

The Multi-modality Technologist prepares patients for diagnostic radiology and CT exams, ensuring compliance with safety and procedural standards. They maintain departmental policies and deliver quality services while performing radiologic examinations under established protocols.

Description

Position Summary

The Multi-modality Technologist is a member of the Radiology staff who plans, organizes, and accomplishes activities in the Imaging Department according to hospital policies and procedures, standards of practice of the profession and state and federal law.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience: CT Certified, ARRT (R) Certified, current Vermont Radiologic Technologist license, BLS Certified. Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Requirements

Essential Functions Of The Position: Prepares patients for diagnostic radiology exams based on age specific criteria. Prepares patients for CT exams based on age specific criteria. Sterilize x-ray equipment and performs safety maintenance. Practices the Alara principle. Demonstrates working knowledge of Novarad, VRAD, Cerner and Carestream. Performs Bone Density exams. Knowledge of QA. Knowledge of T and Z scores. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety and environmental and infection control standards. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the radiology department. Ensures the delivery of quality services in area of operation. Performs radiologic examinations under the protocol established by our supervising radiologist established by VRAd. Establishes and maintains communication within the department and with other hospital departments. Develops relationships with professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs. Has working knowledge of PACS. Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed. Demonstrates competencies necessary to provide radiologic services to all age groups and types of patients in population served, recognizing both the needs specific to age/type and techniques or modifications required to provide care.
