About the role

The role involves processing and testing various laboratory specimens, reviewing, and reporting lab results, alongside performing operation, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation. Additional duties may include assisting with new equipment validation, training personnel, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.

Position Summary

Processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens; reviews and reports lab results; performs operation, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment; acts as resource to other laboratory personnel. Additional responsibility may include assisting with new equipment validation and implementation; employee training and competency assessment; regulatory compliance responsibilities for CAP, TJC, AABB or other agencies, quality assurance and quality control performance and evaluation.

Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years.

As both a community hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center offers several specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular facilities, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care and weight-loss surgery.

Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the only state designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county by the State of Florida.

Delray Medical Center is also home to Fair Oaks Pavilion, a 53-bed adult psychiatry unit.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an approved institution or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of experience as a clinical laboratory scientist in an acute care facility (or one year experience with a Master's Degree). Florida State licensure as a Medical Technologist is required for this position.
