The Chaplain provides spiritual presence, counsel, guidance, and coordination of Soul Care to patients, families, and staff, including making on-call visits as requested. Major responsibilities involve coordinating Soul Care services to augment the patient's visit and ensuring timely EPIC documentation of pastoral encounters.
Applicants must have written endorsement from the board of elders/session/council of a local congregation where they are a member and must maintain supportive, open, and respectful relationships. Candidates need the ability to reflect on experiences from a theological perspective without bias, assess cultural/religious diversity sensitively, and possess computer literacy for using the EPIC electronic medical record.

(Applicant must be in good standing with home congregation and/or supervising denominational judicatory) Maintains relationships characterized by mutual support, open communication, trust and respect. Able to help patients, family and staff reflect on their experiences from a theological or faith perspective without imposing any personal bias. Able to assess and respond sensitively to cultural and religious diversity. Computer Literacy commensurate with use of EPIC, electronic medical record for charting patient/family interventions. Flexibility with on-call scheduling to meet department needs including overnight, weekends and holidays. Willingness to travel to receive specialized training appropriate to "best practice" of Soul Care. Past training in the areas of grief counseling, hospice volunteering, Critical Incident Stress Management and Stephen’s Ministry should be noted within the application. 1 Hour USD $26.70/Hr.
