The core responsibility is to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served, upholding values like Dignity, Integrity, Service, Compassion, and Respect. Caregivers must also be supportive team members and effectively relate information about a resident's condition to the nurse or supervisor.
Applicants must hold a current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license and demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills for age-appropriate resident care. Essential soft skills include being a supportive team player with patience, tact, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and the ability to manage difficult residents.
