The Advanced Practice Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, identifying nursing problems, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective care delivery and achieving desired patient outcomes.
Candidates must possess a current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license and prescriptive authority certification in Arkansas, along with current CPR certification. The role requires the ability to practice nursing involving the diagnosis and treatment of human responses to health alterations, utilizing the nursing process and physical capabilities for patient assistance.

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse will have a current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Arkansas. S/He should also have a current certification for prescriptive authority in the state of Arkansas. Must be CPR certified.
Individualized orientation period of no less than 2 weeks and generally no greater than 3 months.
Ability to practice nursing as described by the following definition: " The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations.” Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering prescribed treatments, medications and diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care using the problem list, collaborating with other health care providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others.

Maintains good physical and emotional well being. Job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work. The individual will be required to assist with lifting and moving patients, pushing of carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; and lifting or pushing of up to 50 pounds. The individual must be able to bend over to perform certain duties, e.g., check chest tube drainage, check urinary output, etc. The individual must also be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills. A significant amount of writing and computer entry is required. Trips to various departments will be required. The position does have some heavy exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents. Exposure to infectious wastes and body fluids may mandate the wearing of gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles.
