Pay range for this position is $42.78 - $53.74/hour.

Actual pay is based on years of licensure.

This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Position Summary

  • The RN CRT Tier 1 – Hospital provides experienced and flexible nurses who deliver patient care across multiple departments within a single facility. Applies strong clinical knowledge and nursing skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for diverse patient populations. In this role, RNs adapt quickly to different care settings and collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality, age-appropriate care that meets the needs of our patients and communities. Provides coverage in two or more departments within the facility as staffing needs require. Tier I RN’s will provide coverage in two or more of the following departments at one location:
  • ICU, Stepdown, Medical/Surgical, Psychiatric, Outpatient Clinic, Ambulatory Care.

Education:

  • Registered
  • Nurse
  • Experience: 2 years of acute care nursing experience within the specialty area of hire
  • Licensure/
  • Certification: Current Registered Nurse License in the state of IL. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life

  • Skills/
  • Knowledge: Effective verbal and written communication with interdisciplinary teams Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for rapid decision-making Excellent adaptability and flexibility in managing varied patient populations and unit workflows Time management and prioritization skills in fast-paced and variable environments Ability to educate patients, families, and staff across multiple clinical areas

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Experience collaborating with diverse healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care Prior float or cross-training experience preferred Licensure/ Certification: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or other specialty certifications Other Skills/ Knowledge: Familiarity with multiple patient care areas (e.g., med-surg, ICU, telemetry, pediatrics, ER) Understanding of age-specific care needs and population-specific interventions OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Registered Nurse license in Illinois, a minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience within the specialty area of hire, and current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association. Required skills include effective communication, strong clinical assessment, critical thinking for rapid decision-making, and excellent adaptability in fast-paced environments.
