The Pharmacy Intern assists the pharmacist with the storage, preparation, and dispensing of medications to patients, patient care areas, and departments. This includes identifying, preparing, packaging, labeling, and delivering medications, including sterile products, under supervision.
Candidates must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy to receive experiential training. The role requires providing pharmaceutical care commensurate with the intern's level of professional education while supervised by a licensed pharmacist.
The Pharmacy Intern is registered with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy for the purpose of receiving experiential pharmacy practice training. Assists the pharmacist in the storage, preparation and dispensing of medications to patients, patient care areas and departments. Identifies, prepares, packages, labels and delivers medications, including sterile products, and provides other pharmaceutical care commensurate with years of professional education under the supervision of a pharmacist.
