About the role

The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat patients for swallowing, speech-language, and therapy needs, performing ongoing assessments and designing appropriate plans of care involving the patient and family. Responsibilities also include educating patients and families, planning discharges, and supervising clinical fellows, students, and support personnel.

How you’ll contribute

A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) who excels in this role

Evaluate and treat patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.

Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

Design and implement a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.

Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.

Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services.

Supervise activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

  • Applicants must hold a master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Additional requirements include:
  • Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with TX Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
  • Inpatient rehab experience preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR Card

Requirements

Applicants must possess a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology and hold current licensure with the Texas Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology, along with a current BLS/CPR Card. Experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred for this PRN position.
