The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures by taking vitals and completing EMR intake, assisting providers during procedures, and ensuring all clinical documentation and instrument sterilization standards are maintained.
Candidates must possess 1-3 years of experience in an ASC, Operating Room, or ER, along with a high school diploma and completion of a medical assistant program. Current Medical Assistant certification and BLS certification are preferred, along with proficiency in EMR systems.
Description We’re seeking a detail-oriented, team-driven ASC Medical Assistant to support surgical patient care at Arizona Pain’s Ambulatory Surgery Center. In this hands-on clinical role, you’ll help prep patients for procedures, support our providers, and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Prepare patients for procedures (vitals, EMR intake, patient comfort) Set up rooms, trays, and supplies for surgical and office-based procedures Assist providers during procedures and with patient flow Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards Keep clinical documentation up to date (charts, logs, EMR) Check, prep, and log medications for procedures Monitor inventory and notify team when supplies or equipment are needed Support a safe and organized surgical environment Other duties as assigned. At least 1-3 year of experience in an ASC, Operating Room, or ER High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program Proficient with EMR systems (preferably eCW) Experience in a surgical, procedural, or fast-paced clinical setting a plus Current certification as a medical assistant preferred Current BLS Certification or ability to obtain Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle strong personalities Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to varying clinic environments Ability to occasionally travel between sites as needed.
