The optometrist will perform comprehensive eye exams, establish long-term patient relationships through care and education, and advise patients on options for correcting ametropias, systemic/ocular diseases, and visual needs. Responsibilities also include diagnosing sight problems, prescribing corrective lenses and medications, and providing pre- and postoperative care for eye surgeries.
Candidates must possess a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution and must have successfully passed all required state optometric board examinations. The role requires the ability to practice to the full scope of the license and support practice growth.
