The technician is responsible for acquiring echocardiographic examinations and maintaining the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory, independently performing or assisting licensed practitioners with various cardiac imaging procedures. This includes preparing, administering, and documenting activities related to ultrasound enhancing agents while ensuring patient safety and optimal image quality.

Responsible for a variety of technical duties necessary to the acquisition of echocardiographic examinations and maintenance of the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory.
Cardiac sonographers independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of various cardiac imaging procedures. Sonographers prepare, administer and document activities related to ultrasound enhancing agents in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a sonographer or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification and
