The Genetics Counselor is primarily responsible for providing genetic counseling services to patients, parents, and families by gathering history, discussing testing options, and documenting findings. This role also involves assisting families in understanding genetic disorders, developing educational programs, and supporting research protocols as needed.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling or an equivalent discipline and hold a Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar position is required, with familiarity in EPIC EHR being preferred.
