The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric services to incarcerated individuals, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans and manage psychiatric emergencies within a correctional facility.
Candidates must hold a medical degree (MD or DO) and possess a current, unrestricted medical license and DEA registration. Experience in correctional medicine or working with underserved populations is preferred.
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Current and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the state/jurisdiction where the correctional facility is located and DEA. Valid state identification. Experience in providing psychiatric care, preferably with experience in correctional medicine or working with underserved populations. Strong diagnostic and assessment skills, with knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatment options, and psychopharmacology. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
