Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree required. Minimum one-year clinical background required, with knowledge of cardiac procedures, such as EKG, stress treadmill, and basic arrhythmia. Medical terminology preferred. Completion of an approved electro-cardio graphic techniques course required.

  • REGISTRATIONS: EKG Certification required and Medical Assistant Certification preferred. Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association certification required.

Thorough knowledge of test data to ensure safe and accurate completion. Promptly report preliminary reports of abnormal findings of moderate to severe consequences as it pertains to the medical wellbeing of the patient. Responsible for assistance and recognition of an emergency that may arise in the department or at a patient’s bedside (i.e. Code Blue, etc). Responsible for maintenance of patient data and compiling test results for permanent records. Utilizes order entry system to access orders and complete exams Utilizes order entry system to access orders and complete orders. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner Demonstrate an understanding of the RMC policies and procedures, and interact with patients, physicians, staff, and visitors in a way that demonstrate caring and that reflect the RMC mission and philosophy.
