This role involves assisting medical staff by providing basic care to surgical patients, which includes greeting, escorting, verifying the visit purpose, and recording vital signs. The assistant will also operate mechanical devices, ensure patient comfort, report emergencies, and manage medical records and pathology filing.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent and demonstrate strong organizational skills. A certification as a Medical Assistant or an LPN license in the State of Florida is required for this position.
Assists medical staff by rendering basic patient care to surgical patients. May identify and greet patient, escort patient to exam room, verify purpose of visit, take and record vital signs, observe, record and report patient condition. May operate or assist in operating various mechanical devices. Meets physical comfort of patient; reports emergencies and assists in administering emergency treatment. May transport patient via wheelchair or stretcher. Answer phones. Medical record assembled according to unit standard. Pathology tests are filed accurately (example: lab).
