About the role

Speech-language pathologists evaluate patients for speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia issues, implement appropriate therapy programs, and communicate findings to patients, parents, and other professionals. They also support rehabilitation programs and maintain professional relationships across various hospital departments.

Job Summary

Speech language pathologists evaluate patients referred for appraisal of speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia, carry out therapy, as appropriate, communicate results to patients, parents and other professionals, and participate in various Hospital or Community related activities.

Evaluates, plans and implements treatment programs for referred patients according to accepted principles and practices of Speech Therapy.

Supports all programs in the Rehabilitation Continuum.

Maintains working relationships with Hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, allied health professionals, ancillary services, and hospital support personnel.

Supervised by and reports to Therapy Manager or Senior Therapist.

Supervises assistants, aides, and students.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements 4 year/Bachelor's Degree Experience Pediatric experience Certification and Licensure ASLHA Clinical Competence Cert in Speech Language Pathology PA Speech Language Pathologist License BLS Certification Required Skills Computer Skills to include use and navigation Dictation and Transcription Skills Excellent Communications Skills Excellent Interpersonal Skills Microsoft Office Applications Multi Line Telephone Operational Skills Helping patients achieve each and every milestone on their road to recovery.
