The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide care and treatment to residents in a long-term care setting while supervising Licensed Nursing Assistants. Duties are performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Candidates must possess or be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Vermont. Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels by regulation.
The starting pay rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
The Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) in Bennington, VT is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team. This position entails licensed practical nursing work involving the care and treatment of residents in a long-term care setting, working an assigned shift. Supervision is exercised over Licensed Nursing Assistants. Duties are performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
We have a great team at VVH with providers available on-site Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and by phone other times and holidays. We have a wound care nurse, and we provide great care to our veterans, spouses and Gold Star parents. We currently have openings on all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Shift differentials, as applicable, will apply to hours worked on evenings, nights, and weekend hours.

Requires standing for long periods of time, walking for extended periods and distances, sitting, repetitive movements, bending, twisting, stretching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Duties require regular and direct interaction with residents with varying degrees of physical and mental illness, dementia, infectious diseases, severe physical and mental limitations, and residents who may display unpredictable verbal, physical, or aggressive behaviors.
Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license.
NOTE: Must maintain licensure as a condition of employment
Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels by regulation and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
