The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for meeting the sonography needs of the patient within the Radiology department, which includes making initial assessments and determining daily requirements. They must ensure each patient receives safe, optimal care through appropriate planning and implementation of procedures.
Candidates must be certified by The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and pass exams in modalities like Abdomen, GYN, Vascular, and Echocardiograms. Required education includes graduation from an accredited two-year radiology program, and previous experience in Ultrasound and Radiology with desired cross-training in CT is beneficial.
The Ultra sonographer is a registered or registry eligible Technologist who is responsible for the sonography needs of the patient while in the Radiology department.
