The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs clinical laboratory procedures across chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, clinical microscopy, and microbiology under the direction of the Laboratory Manager. This role also involves assisting with data collection for surveys, participating in performance improvement activities, and maintaining instrumentation.

Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for providing clinical laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care.
Performs clinical laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, clinical microscopy and microbiology.
Assists in data collection for statistical surveys or other reports generated by the department; participates in performance improvement activities within the department.
Utilizes specialized knowledge of clinical laboratory principles in the maintenance of instrumentations, documentation of QC programs, patient results’ reporting and in the performance of general duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Lab Manager.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Medical technology and a valid California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
