The Emergency Veterinary Assistant will provide immediate support by triaging incoming patients, guiding them toward care, and assisting with treatments, nursing duties, and diagnostics alongside credentialed staff. Responsibilities also include setting up and monitoring anesthesia/sedation cases, managing IV fluids and medications, and participating in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and ideally have at least one year of experience in a veterinary assistant role, with emergency or specialty experience being a plus. Essential requirements include basic computer skills, excellent communication abilities, fine motor skills for patient handling, and the physical capacity to stand for long periods and lift significant weight.
