The Certified Medical Assistant will assist physicians during patient exams and procedures, including rooming patients, recording histories, vital signs, and documenting in the EHR. Responsibilities also involve administering medications, immunizations, treatments, educating patients, and coordinating follow-up care.
Candidates must possess a valid and current Medical Assisting certification in Iowa from an accredited program, such as AAMA or NCCT. Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred, and familiarity with the EPIC system is considered a plus.
Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR) Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
Valid and current certification in the state of Iowa for Medical Assisting Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – accredited program with certification (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, NCMA, NAHP, AAH, ARMA or NHCA) Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
