About the role

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will assess, diagnose, plan, and implement medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician, functioning within the full scope of licensure. Responsibilities include delivering individualized care, managing interdisciplinary care plans, fostering collaborative relationships, and adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.

Opportunity Information We are seeking a skilled, patient focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support our providers through a blend of in basket management and face to face patient care. This role is ideal for an NP who enjoys teamwork, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is comfortable supporting both virtual and in clinic workflows.

Job Description

Clinical Support & Patient Care Provide in‑person patient care, including assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow‑up. Support patient access by managing urgent issues and communicating care plans clearly. In‑Basket Management Oversee provider in‑basket items including patient messages, medication refill requests, lab/test results, and care‑coordination tasks. Respond to or route items appropriately to ensure timely, accurate resolution. Escalate clinical concerns to supervising physicians when needed. Care Coordination & Communication Collaborate closely with physicians, RNs, MAs, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR. Participate in team huddles, quality initiatives, and workflow improvement efforts.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Master's: NursingCERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing RN-California Registered Nurse CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA) (not required for SHSO-Admin (Employee Health) or non-patient care positions)BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Providers TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice. National board certification (FNP, AGNP, ANP, or specialty equivalent). Minimum of 5 years of clinical NP experience. Prior telehealth/virtual care experience a plus. Strong communication skills and comfort managing high‑volume electronic in‑basket work. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives. Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's in Nursing and hold a California Nurse Practitioner license, along with national certification from AANPCB, ANCC, AACN, PNCP, or NCC. A typical requirement includes five years of recent relevant experience demonstrating competence in advanced nursing theories and medical terminology.
