The Outpatient Pharmacist is responsible for operational and clinical pharmacy functions, including creating and maintaining patient profiles, reviewing prescriptions, ensuring adequate medication inventory, and verifying order accuracy.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy is required, with a Doctor of Pharmacy preferred, alongside three or more years of pharmacist experience, preferably in a retail setting.
Creates and maintains patient profiles within the pharmacy system Review’s medication profiles with each prescription fill Ensures appropriate and adequate medication inventory of controlled and non-controlled medications Verifies the accuracy of order entry and product dispensing Ensures proper medication handling and storage Prioritizes tasks to increase department efficiency
Education: B.S. Degree in Pharmacy required Doctor of Pharmacy preferred License(s)/Certification(s): Current License to practice Pharmacy in the state of Iowa required Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons required Experience: 3 years of pharmacist experience required Retail Pharmacy experience preferred
