Responsibilities

In this role the Cytotechnologist will perform the following job duties

• Upon supervision, microscopically evaluates all types of cytology specimens submitted to the cytopathology laboratory. Screen cytologic material and recognizes abnormalities identified and renders an interpretation diagnoses using the laboratory information system; appropriate cases are sent to the Cytopathologists for final interpretation consideration. Assist Rapid-On Site Evaluations in multiple services including Bronchoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and surgical clinics. Perform appropriate record-keeping procedures and fulfills some of the duties of the cytopathology supervisor during that supervisor's absence. On rare occasions, prepares cytologic specimens for evaluation using established procedures.
