The Direct Service Professional is responsible for providing care and assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, social skills, and leisure activities. This role also requires accurate completion of all assigned documentation, reporting resident illness symptoms, and performing additional assigned duties like laundry or dining room duty.
Candidates must be able to complete the required CMA class, which may occur outside of scheduled shifts, and must maintain a current and valid driver's license. A GED or High School Diploma is required, and the position involves working with individuals with developmental disabilities, requiring physical activities like lifting up to 50 lbs.

Specific Skills and Responsibilities · Supervise, assist, and train resident in all activities of daily living, including but not limited to, personal hygiene skills, clothing care skills, social skills, leisure skills, care of personal space, dining skills, toileting, and appropriate behavior skills · Provide continuous active treatment for residents · Accurately complete all assigned documentation including but not limited to, formal and service objectives, behavior incident reports, accident/incident documentation, medical related documentation · All documentation put in computer system · Report any issues or sign/symptoms of resident illness to nurse and supervisor · Provide additional services which may be assigned as part of the job such as laundry, dining room duty, or any other reasonable requests made by supervisor deemed necessary for resident care or as part of the job · Requires daily computer use
