The psychologist provides individual, family, or group psychotherapy and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to develop evidence-based treatment plans. They are responsible for assessing patient history, conducting diagnostic tests, and documenting care within an outpatient clinical setting.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D) in Psychology from an accredited institution. A current psychologist license in the state of practice is required, along with the successful completion of a credentialing process.
The Licensed Psychologist is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team composed of psychiatrists, APPs, psychologists, therapists, nursing, and other disciplines to provide holistic or comprehensive medical and mental health services to patients. They interview patients and give diagnostic tests as clinically indicated. The Psychologist provides individual, family or group psychotherapy, and collaborates with the behavioral health team to develop and implement evidenced-based treatment and interventions. Position Details: Outpatient Psychiatry and Counseling Clinic offering the following services: Behavioral health Counseling Ketamine services Mental health crisis care Psychiatric care Senior behavioral health Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) This role requires up to a 60 day credentialing process, selected candidates will need to successfully complete prior to starting. Essential Functions Assesses the patient's medical history, mental health history, and current presentation to understand the patient's needs from treatment. Diagnoses and treats various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, which may include psychotherapy or psychological testing. Develops a plan of care either individually or with input from the patient, patient family/significant others, physicians and other members of the healthcare team. Provides treatment based on patient need and evidenced-based interventions. Refers patients to other services to improve their well-being. These referrals may include community services, treatment programs, support groups, and/or psychiatrists (or other mental health providers). Properly documents pertinent information regarding the patient's plan of care. Consults with the multi-disciplinary team to develop treatment plans, behavior plans and discharge plans. PSYPACT eligible or PSYPACT authorization Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and assess various nonverbal cues used in patient diagnosis/assessment in order to understand and develop treatment options. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, as well as hear and respond quickly to emergent needs or issues that may arise with patients. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, etc.
