The Social Worker will provide evaluations, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to individuals with behavioral health needs. Services will be delivered in a trauma-informed and culturally competent manner.

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor for our Mental Health Clinic in Bay Shore. The Social Worker will provide evaluations, treatment planning, psychotherapy and crisis intervention to children, families and adults with a full range of DSM diagnoses in a clinic setting, including co-occurring disorders. Services are delivered in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.
Master’s Degree in social work or related field required.
LMSW, LCSW, LMFT or Limited Permit required.
At minimum of 1 year of related experience in a behavioral health setting required; clinic experience preferred.
Prior experience diagnosing using the DSM V and experience with behavioral/therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
Strong judgement and problem-solving skills are required.
Ability to work both independently, as well as on a team is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records, are required.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
This position requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
