Camp Nurse for Children with Special Needs
Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, the camp nurse (RN/LPN) works alongside the Weekend Adventures team from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon and oversees all medical care for campers ages 6-17 with intellectual disabilities.
There is one nurse on site who oversees the medical care for an average of 10 campers throughout the weekend. The nurse works alongside our Local Program Manager, Direct Support Professionals, and Volunteers to ensure our campers stay safe while having fun. In addition to the medical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to assist our campers in activities such as hiking, low ropes courses, hayrides, craft time and even s'mores!
